MAIN TOPICS OF THE CONFERENCE


The general aim of the annual conference is to present the latest evidence-based interdisciplinary measures in the area of the promotion of health and life quality and prevention of risk factors for the most common contemporary diseases in populations of different ages. 

The 7th scientific and professional conference with international participation »Health of Working-Age and Older Adults«, organised by the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Primorska, will take place on 19th and 20th September 2024 at UP FTŠ - Turistica, Portorož, Slovenia. 

The aim of the conference is to address the health problems of working-age and older adults, and present contemporary research in this field as well as new approaches used in practice. The conference programme will be interdisciplinary - with the purpose of improving life quality for aforementioned populations, it will focus on the various aspects of eliminating risk factors in the care for their health.

The conference will provide a space for intertwining various topics and articulating different views on the health of working-age and older adults, from healthcare and psychosocial aspects, to the fields of physical activity, physiotherapy, and nutrition, as well as information and technology.

The conference programme will include plenary lectures, sectional lectures on particular topics, and poster presentations.

The topics for presentations should be in line with the main topics of the conference:

  • CONCERNS, CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES IN THE HEALTH OF WORKING-AGE AND OLDER ADULTS (chronic diseases, health of marginalised and vulnerable groups, women's health/men's health),

  • MENTAL HEALTH OF WORKING-AGE AND OLDER ADULTS,

  • NUTRITION AND HEALTH OF WORKING-AGE AND OLDER ADULTS,

  • ICT SOLUTIONS FOR HEALTH OF WORKING-AGE AND OLDER ADULTS,

  • CHALLENGES IN HUMAN FACTORS, PHYSICAL (IN)ACTIVITY AND SEDENTARY BEHAVIOUR AMONG WORKING-AGE AND OLDER ADULTS,

  • PREVENTION AND REHABILITATION  FOR WORKING-AGE AND OLDER ADULTS.
